The Staycation I Didn't Know I Needed

As much as I love travelling, sometimes the best escapes are right on your doorstep. A few weeks ago, I treated myself to a staycation at Sir Devonshire Square Hotel and, to be honest, it was exactly what I needed.

Located in Shoreditch, Sir Devonshire Square Hotel feels like a calm retreat from the energy of East London. As much as I love the area's creativity, independent shops and buzzing restaurants, it was lovely to have a peaceful space to return to and properly unwind.

The hotel strikes that perfect balance between luxury and comfort, with beautifully designed interiors that feel stylish and welcoming. As someone who loves fashion, design and aesthetics, I couldn't help but appreciate the attention to detail throughout the property. I was slightly obsessed with the terracotta-tiled walls in the lobby, which immediately caught my eye. Combined with an earthy colour palette, natural materials and carefully curated artwork, the whole space felt effortlessly chic. There are subtle mid-century influences throughout the hotel, creating an atmosphere that feels creative, contemporary and incredibly relaxing.

One of my favourite parts of the stay was simply slowing down. There was no rushing between meetings, castings or events. Instead, I spent my mornings enjoying a matcha in the lounge and taking my time over the hotel's delicious food offering. The relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect place to sit with a drink, catch up on reading and properly switch off for a few hours. Sometimes it's those simple moments that make a stay feel special.

The service was also wonderful. Everyone I encountered was warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful, which made the whole experience feel even more enjoyable.

To be honest, I left feeling refreshed, inspired and already planning my next visit. In a city that's constantly on the go, it was such a treat to find a place that encourages you to slow down and appreciate the moment. If you're considering a trip to London - or a staycation if you live here - Sir Devonshire Square Hotel is definitely worth adding to your list.
