Eel Sushi Bar: Notting Hill’s new Sushi gem
It’s no secret I’m obsessed with sushi
I never get tired of that fresh, delicate flavour - and I love the precision and artistry that goes into a proper sushi experience. I’m that girl who plans holidays around sushi spots: from omakase in LA to hidden gems across Europe and Asia. But who knew I’d find my new favourite just around the corner in London - in Notting Hill, no less?
Say hello to Eel Sushi Bar - a tiny 10-seater slice of Japanese perfection tucked just off Portobello Road. It’s from the brilliant minds behind Dorian and Tuna Fight Club (if you know, you know), so I had very high hopes. Spoiler alert: it delivered. Big time.
Set in what used to be an antiques shop on Talbot Road, the vibe is minimal, cosy, and low-key magical. Like stepping into a calm Tokyo dream - even though I haven’t made it to Japan... yet.
The menu? Just nigiri, sashimi, and miso. But every single bite is next level. It’s the kind of place where you slow down, savour the moment, and genuinely smile after each piece.
Notting Hill has always had my heart - colourful houses, vintage shops, lazy Sunday strolls… and now, world-class sushi too? I’m officially in love.
Walk-ins only. So get there early - and thank me later. 💕
