Art & Appetite - Why Locatelli at the National Gallery Is London’s Must-Visit Spot for Art & Food Lovers
You know those moments when two of your biggest passions collide in the most delicious way?
That was me the other day when I visited Locatelli - the National Gallery’s dreamy, brand-new restaurant from Michelin master chef Giorgio Locatelli and his wife and business partner Plaxy Locatelli (in partnership with Searcys).
As you probably know, I’m a big art lover - and I’ve always felt that art and food are two sides of the same coin: both about creativity, emotion, and just the right amount of flair. So spending the afternoon gallery-hopping, then stepping into a space where the walls hum with history and the scent of the Italian cuisine hangs in the air? Pure bliss.
The vibe? Effortlessly chic. Relaxed ambience, stunning interiors , and of course - incredible food (honestly, it almost felt like I was back on the Amalfi Coast). I ate way too much and loved every single bite. The mix of world-class art and soul-soothing Italian dishes? It just feels so... me. 😉
Locatelli’s signature touch is everywhere - elegant, comforting, and never overdone. Whether you’re craving a perfect tortelloni or just want to slip into a very stylish Italian daydream, this is the spot. I didn’t want to leave - and yes, I’m already plotting my return.
They only opened a few days ago, so go now- while it’s still the art world’s best-kept foodie secret.
