A Taste of Mayfair Magic at Lilibet’s
There’s something so exciting about discovering a new London gem - and this month, that gem was Lilibet’s, which opened recently in the heart of Mayfair. Tucked away on Bruton Street, it’s the kind of place that feels effortlessly elegant yet wonderfully inviting from the moment you walk in. Let’s be clear: it’s a restaurant whose story, interiors and flavours all whisper “something special.”
The owner-restaurateur behind it all, Ross Shonhan, has clearly poured his heart into the place. This was the very address where the late Queen was born - and her childhood nickname was Lilibet - so yes, that’s where the name comes from.
The interiors feel glamorous in that classic Mayfair way, yet almost private - like visiting a stately home filled with history. Ross Shondhan has said he wanted Lilibet’s to feel like “an English home that has stood through the ages”, and honestly, he’s nailed it. Open fireplaces, soft lighting, gorgeous tapestries, rich textures… it’s the sort of restaurant that makes you want to stay for hours, savouring every detail.
As for the food - wow. The flavours are bold yet beautifully balanced, and the service hits that perfect London sweet spot: polished but never pretentious.
There’s a real sense of story behind Lilibet’s - a nod to heritage, but also to the new chapter it’s writing for Mayfair dining. As the evening wound down, I found myself already planning my next visit.
If you’re after somewhere indulgent yet effortlessly cool, Lilibet’s is it. A little slice of Mayfair magic - and one I’ll be dreaming about for a while. ✨
