Cosy Season Self-Care: Finding Calm and Balance in the English Countryside
There’s something magical about October, isn’t there? The air turns crisp, the leaves go golden, and suddenly it feels okay to slow down a little. After months of airports, shoots, and living out of suitcases, I’ve realised how important it is to find balance - not just physically, but emotionally too.
As much as I adore the energy of travel and city life, I’ve learned that my body and mind crave stillness. That’s why autumn weekends in the countryside have become my little ritual of grounding. Last weekend, I escaped to Estelle Manor in Oxfordshire, and honestly, it felt like pressing reset.
My mornings started slow, with a warm cup of tea and my journal. There’s something grounding about writing down your thoughts before the world wakes up - setting intentions, noting small gratitudes, and letting your mind breathe. That quiet ritual has become one of my biggest tools for balance.
Nestled on an expansive estate of parkland and gardens, Estelle Manor offers the perfect backdrop for slowing down. I loved how the woodland paths, wide meadows and views across the grounds gently coaxed me into a quieter rhythm.
As the cosy season settles in, I’m trying to hold onto that feeling - allowing myself to rest, to say no when I need to, and to find joy in slower moments. Balance isn’t a destination, it’s a rhythm - and autumn is the perfect time to find yours. 🍁✨
